Who are these two interesting figures and what are they doing?

Perhaps they are raising the bust of a celebrated thinker or warrior. They appear to be preparing to place a laurel wreath upon his head.

Apollo, the patron of sport, is associated with the wearing of a laurel wreath. The laurels symbolise victory.

This lovely brooch has a gold frame with a secure cross style at the back. The cameo is glued on. The brooch dates from late 1950s possibly 1960s. Unsigned but very well made.

Glass cameos are made by pouring two colours of glass into a mould and carving one of the layers. It is an ancient technique and still used today.
