What can I say. These double brooches with chains are fabulous. Sometimes called chatelaines, collar brooches or double brooches.
From my research I believe they are from the 1950s although they could be earlier. I have seen them worn on vintage fashion images. As Pray Tell, a character in the TV drama Pose, Billy Porter wears a set of these brooches.
There are modern versions but they do not have the quality, weight or style of these.
The blue, green and brown glass cabochons are almost lightbulb shaped and wonderfully glazed.
The pink one is also light bulb shaped but is glass and translucent .
Each cabochon is centred within in a rope style setting. There is a large one and a small one for each pair. They are probably glued at the base and then two rope circles support them within the setting.
Each chain is slightly different. They are very good quality. Not gold, possibly plate but probably a very good amalgam. They have been in storage since the 1980s.
The pink, brown and blue have crossed chains.
The green's chain is not crossed.
These brooches are in mint condition. Never been worn. Signed "14" using European number styles.
I am still researching the designer/maker/manufacturer.
