A gorgeous, signed Miracle brooch from the 1950s.
These brooches are designed to take our bleak British winters. Glass cabochons are meant to look like agates and other semi-precious stones. Claw set and open backed they can get wet and windy. A fabulous coat brooch.
MIRACLE Jewellery began manufacturing in Birmingham in 1946 and have become a leading British manufacturer of Celtic jewellery, Irish jewellery and Scottish style jewellery.
In May 2013 Miracle moved to Cornwall where it is now being made by St Justin using the same processes and finishes that were being used in Birmingham.
Interestingly the resurgence of popularity of Victorian Scottish jewellery that was originally copied from Gothic styles often fools even the most experienced dealer.
Excellent condition. All stones are glass.
