An antique brass sash clip made in Paris, France.
I am not sure of the exact date of design. Based on its floral shape and filigree work I believe it is an example of arts and crafts or aesthetic movement so late Victorian / Edwardian.
It would have been fastened onto a sash belt and then pinned securely to the garment. I have used a ribbon to demonstrate.
Marked A-F Paris, Bté SGDG. Breveté sans guaranties du government - meaning patented without government guarantee.
Measurements: 4.5 cm circumference
