In the late Victorian times, the low price of silver and manufacturing techniques allowed even the humblest of folk to buy and wear a brooch.
Many of these brooches and pins were obviously well loved and repaired multiple times in order to become cherished family heirlooms.
One of a kind apart from the Scottish wedding pins (wishbones and heather).
I have cleaned and polished each brooch and the pins are secure.
These pins were designed to be worn on thick woollen garments and still make fabulous coat brooches. I recommend using a brooch sponge (included free of charge) to fasten them to thinner fabrics.
