This style of brooch was made in the 1950s and worn by almost everyone.
Colloquially called "church brooches" they are fancy but very hardwearing. Lots of different cabochons can be found but I am partial to colour. Usually silver tone metal - I rarely find gold tone in this style.
Similar to pebble brooches but instead of a small, discrete frame it is ornate with curlicues and flourishes.
Wear one or add it to a cluster of three for impact.
The green glass cabochon is bright and is pretending to be its very expensive cousin jade.
