These brooches, made of aluminium are over seventy years old. Manufactured in 1950s Germany using the ELectrolytic OXidation of ALuminium process. The surface is given a tough, corrosion-resistant protective layer. A machine-tooled mirror is inset into the centre. Light and hardwearing, this pin will suit any garment or fabric.
Bounce the light and draw all the attention to you.
The style is a direct nod to earlier Art Deco pieces although the pins were produced much later. I think suggest it also has a 1980s vibe of military glamour. Pin multiples to create impact on a jacket or hat. Wear one on a jumper for a jaunty look.
There are three styles of mirror – vertical stripes, backslash strips and a diamond grid.
Size is 1 cm x 5.5 cm.
